Somerset Care's Lavender team complete 25 mile sponsored trek
Released On 9th Aug 2023
Five members of the Lavender Court care team, our specialist dementia, nursing and residential care home in Taunton, challenged themselves to a 25-mile sponsored walk to raise funds for their residents’ activities and entertainment fund.
Carers Ben, Chloe, Lauren and Kirsty, along with activities co-ordinator Denise, successfully trekked the gruelling 25 miles back from Wimbleball Lake on Exmoor, to Lavender Court, earlier this week. Their motivation was to raise additional funds for the home’s amenities fund, which provides additional activities, treats and entertainment for the residents.
Michaela Cooper, manager at Lavender Court, said:
“A massive well done to the team for completing their sponsored walking challenge! We are so proud of them.
“Sponsorship money is currently being counted, and we cannot wait to announce how much money their efforts have raised for our residents’ activity fund.”
