The BIG issues
Released On 3rd Aug 2015
Our President David Woan met with Marcus Fysh MP on 17th July. Discussion focused on superfast broadband roll-out and the setting of business rates, both of which require attention and rapid action from central government, having become critical issues for some of our members. They also spoke about town centre car parking tariffs and the big-picture future of Yeovil. Marcus and David believe that Yeovil is on the cusp of regaining it’s status as a major regional destination, but there is still a lot of work and change required to harness a fully-inclusive joined-up-thinking approach to the town. Yeovil Chamber will meet with Marcus regularly to be informed and to lobby on behalf of our members. Chamber as a body is politically neutral, and David is hopeful that our continuing close relationship with our MP continues to materialise into tangible support for the business community.
