Our First Ever Patron
Released On 25th Apr 2016
The partnership between Yeovil College and Yeovil Chamber took another positive step forward during March, with Yeovil College becoming patrons of Yeovil Chamber. Yeovil College Director of Curriculum, and Chamber Vice-President Mark Bolton said: “Yeovil College is delighted to extend it’s support for and joint working with Yeovil Chamber by agreeing to act as Patron and contributing £2,000 to extend the work the Chamber is able to do for the benefit of the Yeovil Business Community.
The formalising of the relationship is intended to strengthen the joint work with Chamber members by extending the range of activity the Chamber can afford to undertake; and championing the benefits of strong leadership and workforce development within the membership. We welcome the opportunity to work closer with the business community and look forward to the added value we can bring to members.”
Chamber President David Woan said: “One of the first things I wanted when I took over in February 2015 was closer ties between education and industry. We have been working closely with Yeovil College, and were involved with the launch and promotion of the Employer Ambassador initiative, which now sees employers and business people influencing the College curriculum to match the demands of the local jobs market, and the mentoring of students.”
