Meeting Marcus

Released On 11th Mar 2016

On 15th January, Chamber Vice-President Jason Livingstone and President David Woan held one of our now twice-yearly meetings with Marcus Fysh MP.  These meetings maintain our link with Westminster, broaden our outreach, and lobby for member support from our MP.

On the busy agenda were the A358/A303 road upgrades, rail travel developments, proposed changes to business rates, opportunities arising from the Hinkley C project, the future of our police station, and Employer Ambassadors.  Marcus knows that Yeovil Chamber is very much a part of the decision-making process of agencies such as SSDC, and that our outreach and influence extends to other agencies.

Marcus was particularly interested to learn of our involvement with Yeovil College, and referred to our Employer Ambassador initiative with Yeovil College as 'perfect sense'.  Chamber President David Woan said after the meeting: “Marcus was very frank, and is on-side with the way Chamber looks at the present and the future prosperity of Yeovil.  I’m very pleased that we continue to enjoy a good working relationship with our MP."
