AGM 2016

Released On 25th Apr 2016

Once again Chamber demonstrated to members that they are able to take their business seriously, but not take themselves too seriously.  Newest Chamber member Ristorante Tamburino hosted our informal but informative 14th March Annual General Meeting at their restaurant in South Western Terrace.

Prior to a three course Italian meal, Treasurer Craig Howes presented the financial report for the Chamber.  Although 2015 ended with a small financial loss, Chamber has achieved a huge amount on what amounted to a shoestring budget.  Between courses, President David Woan presented a rundown of 2015 activities and achievements, and what is planned for 2016.  David said: “2015 was a renaissance year; Chamber delivered on it’s promises, and is now the one-stop shop for all things business in the Yeovil area.

We collected two awards at the Western Gazette Business Awards, and Yeovil College has become our first-ever patrons.  There are more networking opportunities than ever, and our relationships with stakeholders in the business community remain strong; all this is reflected in an increased membership and Chamber becoming part of the local government decision-making process.”  For 2016 it will be more of the same; we will seek more sponsorship, engage with larger employers and continue to expand and develop our proposition in support of the business community.
