As many others, businesses in the UK are unable to hold their Christmas parties, Blueloop decided that they would like to donate to the local community and help others who need shelter and food during these difficult times and cold winter.  Blueloop knew of the great work that the team provide at the Open Door and therefore donated £150 to help provide food and shelter for the homeless.

Open Door exists to support rough sleepers and those who are in temporary accommodation in the Taunton Area.  Doors open at 9:30 for rough sleepers who can have hot showers, breakfast and clothes washed and dried. Clients are also able to access the donated clothing store. The Outreach Team also  offer practical advice and support about housing, addictions and health. Open Door also have volunteers who provide a reading group, a make and mend group and people who are there to read the paper and have a chat with. They also have support from the Samaritans and various other groups daily.  Tailored support packages are available which offer practical advice and guidance in the short and longer term.  Mark, Centre Manager commented:-  The street homeless have been particularly at risk during the pandemic.  However, thanks to the concerted efforts of many agencies, businesses, groups and individuals, they have been kept safe.  Blueloop’s generous donation is a key part of the wider community working together to look after the most vulnerable and for that we are extremely grateful.
