Yeovil IT Company donates to local Charity
As many others businesses in the UK are unable to hold their Christmas parties, Blueloop decided that they would like to donate to the local community and help others who need shelter and food during these difficult times and cold winter. Blueloop knew of the great work that the team provide at the Elim Connect Centre and therefore donated £150 to help provide food and shelter for the homeless.
Connect Elim’s aim is to serve the social, physical, spiritual, mental and emotional needs of the community in an accessible way in Somerset. This service is vital to its community during these extremely difficult times and strong community cohesion is increasingly important between organisations and people. Increasing isolation and lack of awareness of individuals means that the community services section need to be inclusive, accessible and diverse. Connect Elim have provided a safe place to encourage people to connect and share skills, time and resources making an impact and difference on peoples lives.
“This year has been particularly challenging for everyone and Elim Connect has been working hard to support our local Community.
The Outreach, Dairy House and Evergreen House Teams have been working harder than ever to support the homeless and rough sleepers, Our Youth team have been continuing their work with the young people and the Connect Centre has been operating as a food bank and meal delivery hub.
During the first lockdown, over 2000 meals and food parcels were provided and we continue to support our community with sit down and takeaway meals. We have just finished our 100 Hampers campaign where, thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to provide 100 people and families with some Christmas gift hampers to help raise everyone's spirits.
Without the support of donations and volunteering we wouldn't be able to continue to help anyone who needs supporting and we are so thankful for the kindness of people who have rallied to our cause this year” reports Sharon Edmonds, from Elim Connect
