YEOVIL COLLEGE WELCOMES LOCAL YEAR 10 & YEAR 8 STUDENTS FOR CAREER TASTER SESSIONS
Released On 3rd Jul 2024
The event, designed to inspire, enlighten and inform, will allow students to engage in carefully developed taster sessions, each focusing on different subjects. This hands-on approach aims to provide valuable insights into potential career paths and the educational journey ahead.
Yeovil College will be exclusively open for the visiting Year 10 and Year 8 students, plus their supporting school team, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the college atmosphere at a comfortable pace and benefit from the areas set aside specifically for their use.
In addition to the educational sessions, Yeovil College has organised fun and engaging lunchtime activities, based upon the topical theme of the Euros, to ensure that students enjoy a well-rounded and more independent experience. This activity is not only a chance to relax and have fun but also an opportunity to foster new friendships and connections with peers who share similar interests.
“We are thrilled to welcome Year 10 and Year 8 students to our campus for a day of learning, self-discovery and exploration,” said Mark Bolton, Principal & CEO at Yeovil College. “Our taster sessions are a snapshot of the vibrant student community and the supportive environment that Yeovil College offers. We believe that it’s never too early to start thinking about the future, and we are here to guide these young minds towards their aspirations.”
Schools in attendance are: Preston School, Westfield Academy, Beaminster School, Holyrood Academy, Sir John Colfox Academy, Stanchester Academy, Ansford Academy, Bucklers Mead Academy, Gillingham School, Gryphon School, King Arthurs School, Thomas Hardye School and Wadham School.
