YEOVIL COLLEGE STUDENTS SHARE THEIR ARTISTIC VISIONS FOR THE FUTURE OF FLIGHT AT IAERO EXHIBITION

The exhibition emerged from a special collaboration between aerospace engineering company Leonardo and Yeovil College, to give students insights into industry and aerospace technology, with a particular focus on the futuristic elements of aerospace design.
The modern setting of the iAero facility proved to be the perfect backdrop for a permanent exhibition of the unique artwork created by Yeovil College students Amber Linder-White, Blue Atkins, Ben Belcher Amala Louis, Courtney Langdon, and Scarlett Hoadley.
Callum Jones, Business Graduate at Leonardo Helicopters UK, said: “I was absolutely awestruck by some of the pieces. Leonardo is immensely proud of the students’ achievements and grateful for the collaboration with Yeovil College and iAero. The artworks have created a great atmosphere for the building, showing future flight concepts and innovation in the aerospace sector.”
Mark Bolton, CEO and Principal at Yeovil College, commented: “We’ve got a critical mass of intellectual property in South Somerset and North and West Dorset that is linked to technology, advanced manufacturing and aerospace, specifically all driven by our capability and heritage in all things ‘helicopters’. It is a massive privilege for a Principal who started a career as an illustrator to congratulate our students exhibiting their fantastic artwork this evening.”
The iAero Centre is a purpose-built 2,398 square metre facility for research, design and innovation in Yeovil, created to support the competitiveness and growth of the aerospace sector and its associated high-value design and engineering technology supply chains. With more than 1,000 visitors to the centre last year, it is hoped that the students will have a large audience for their ambitious designs, which represent future flight concepts and innovation for the aerospace sector.
