Yeovil College Sport Students Organise & Deliver Physical Education Lessons At Local School

Released On 24th Jan 2022

Lead by Sport lecturer, Andy Mitchell, our Level 3 Sport Students have been busy organising and running an extensive curriculum of work for Westfield Academy's Year 7 students, during their Physical Education lessons. We would like to extend our thanks to Westfield Academy for hosting our students and supporting them in working towards their Sport Leadership unit.

When providing feedback on the programme our students provided, Westfield's PE Department had this to say:

"We have been extremely impressed with the high quality lessons, enthusiasm and professionalism shown by all of the Yeovil College students. Lessons are fun, engaging and inclusive to all students. The feedback given by the Year 7 students of how enjoyable, informative and friendly the lessons and College students were in testament to the quality of teaching on display from all involved.

Westfield Academy would like to thank all of the students and Mr Mitchell for their ongoing hard work and we look forward to working closely with Yeovil College Sports Student in the future."

Opportunities like this, provided by our local school partners, offer our students real-world experience that cannot be developed alone in the classroom. We are grateful to Westfield Academy for affording our students this fantastic experience and for their support and kind words.
