THREE exciting announcements!

Released On 24th Jul 2023

We have THREE announcements for you...

• Pop up restaurant night! Hand-prepared 2-Course North Indian dinner on Saturday 19th August, 6 for 6.30pm. BA22 8PZ - (early bird pricing till 31.7.23). Not in our area? We'll put together a meal kit goody bag offer for this menu to make it yourself - coming soon :)

• New Chef for our home and PP HQ - The Crown & Victoria Inn

• A fantastic collaberation charity lunch event with Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance - an event based upon Langar & Seva of the Sikh religion, which we have been waiting to do with the right partner for 10 years!

If you live in the South West, have family or friends in the area, or travel the A303, then do make a small detour down just one street off the Tintinhull exit of the A303 and into Farm Street to join us for a... crown & Victoria Inn Sunday lunch, or... our Pure Punjabi pop up dinner, or... join us for the Langar/Seva charity lunch event with Amazing Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance!

If you live somewhere else across the UK, you might think about having a short break/staycation in this part of the world, and drop in to stay/see us, or book a workshop/holiday with us. Equally please take a look at the charity event with DSAA and consider making a donation of any amount towards the amazing and life-supporting work that they do, funded entirely on donations and volunteers, which is why we knew that they were the perfect partner for us in a Langar/Seva event!

Announcement No. 2 New Chef for our home and PP HQ The Crown & Victoria Inn.

...after a long and very difficult struggle persevering on working on the inn (which we bought for Pure Punjabi), with its previously closed down pub/restaurant and no trade/historic issues, our aim was to bring it back in a new and self-supporting, sustainable format in it's own right!

We are delighted to announce that we have now found the right chef for The Crown & Victoria Inn kitchen.

That means that as well as having this business that preserves and promotes the traditional culinary heritage of North India (testimony to my dearly departed angel mother), we are getting there in having a separate, co-existing and parallel business that will preserve and promote the traditional culinary heritage of traditional British food at a time of record permament closures of pubs. As many of you know, we had no intention of doing this! 18 months ago, we were looking solely for premises for Pure Punjabi, but on being sent to view this closed down pub/restaurant, we knew we could carry it on the back of this business, and that we should try to preserve and save it!

Pure Punjabi has suffered in not being able to function to full extent, and this has been more difficult as Safia has been away now for 6 weeks with her freelance work, as a Brand Ambassador for JLR, across Dubai, Miami, Frankfurt, then Wimbledon hospitality for the two weeks, and currently in Tokyo, and returning Sunday night, in the nick of time to teach for a corporate workshop on Monday! (After that, she can crash :)

So...we start in the best of ways, with what we have been determined to eventually offer with the right person leading the kitchen– a Sunday Roast…and starting this Sunday 23rd July! Lunch service will be from 12-3pm. Let's see how we go as we build this new kitchen team :)

If you are South Somerset/West Dorset/South/West based, (or let your South West friends & family know), and do visit us to enjoy a traditional Sunday roast - we're right off the A303!

Announcement No. 3

North Indian charity lunch event with the inspirational Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance

An afternoon of food, charity, discovery and togetherness! Sunday 27th August 2023, from 12pm, at The Crown & Victoria Inn, BA22 8PZ

It takes approximately £3,000 to fund one life-saving mission, so our mission for this food event is to achieve that.

Come and meet the crew and learn more about the wonderful work that they do.

This event will be staffed by volunteers from both DSAA and from Pure Punjabi.

The food will be a vegetarian Thali of wonderful delicious and nutritious vegetarian dishes prepared by our volunteers!

Former Indian Experience cookery workshop customers... we need YOU!

Are you local, and can you volunteer on the cooking side of the event?

Food prep will be on Saturday 26th August.

We'll send out a separate email about how you can help support Air Ambulance, who receive no government funding, and rely entirely on donations and volunteers!
