Tech Southwest @ Bristol Tech Festival 2022

Tech South West has secured a venue for the whole of this year’s Bristol Tech Festival (Oct 10-14) and is looking to collaborate with different tech leaders and organisations across the region to bring the best of the SW to a Bristol audience. The festival gets 1000s of visitors across the many venues - and for the first time, we want to showcase some of the amazing tech happening across the whole peninsula.
We have a daily theme but with scope for variety across each day - especially the Monday.
Monday - Best of the South West Showcase - tech clusters, hubs, companies - panels and workshops, keynote from Microsoft, networking lunch etc
Tuesday - Scaling up - insight sessions for growing tech brands (and we want to hear from successful scaleups)
Wednesday - Go Global - learning sessions and hear from firms that have moved successfully into overseas markets
Thursday - Funding & Finance - our annual Funding and Finance Summit - workshops, keynote, panels
Friday - StartUps - All things startups, sessions, panels, pitch event to a panel of tech leaders and investors - startups from across the SW are welcome - be that to pitch to raise or just to tell their story so far…
Aligned to these themes, we are looking for people to run 45min workshops, speak, join panel discussions and essentially showcase the amazing tech stories, brands, innovation, centres of excellence, partnerships, discoveries and solutions happening right now.
We are also having a tech networking lunch every day, and are launching the whole week with key note speakers and discussion on the Monday. The venue is right in the city centre - around 10mins walk from Temple Meads.
We’d love it if you wanted to get involved. Please contact Joe and I if you are keen - or want to put forward key tenants, members, people, innovators, academics, entrepreneur, founders and organisations that you know should be shinning on a regional platform.
Some of the big issues around right now - innovation, low carbon, building the region's funding and finance ecosystem -- will of course run through various activities, but we want to celebrate the diversity of tech and activity - so all ideas welcome.
We are inviting the tech community, Government, regional and national partners, media and other key stakeholders for the week.
So whether it's a session for start ups, or a company that can showcase some really cool tech built in the SW- get in touch. If the science parks and innovation centres want to group together for a session on 'blue-green' tech innovation or there's an amazing piece of research that we need to hear about - send us your idea.
If this fits one of the themes - fantastic. If it doesn't - that's fine - we're looking for variety across the week too.
We need to move fast to finalise the daily programme - so please don't delay.
We're keen to make this a regular feature on the regional and national tech calendar - this is our first year and those who get involved can help shape it going forward. If it goes well, we would also be looking to get involved in the best suited national showcase on an annual basis.
Tech South West will be promoting and running the week of activities, funding the venue and lunches etc to provide this opportunity for our tech sector, and of course doing lots of PR and social, podcasts etc through the week itself.
