Released On 26th Jun 2023
Yeovil College Creative Industries students held their final Art Exhibition and Film Screening Festival at one of our region’s most beautiful venues, Sparkford Hall.
On Tuesday 20th June to Thursday 22nd June, between 10.00am to 4.00pm, members of the general public joined students and staff to enjoy exceptional work across all further education curriculum and Yeovil College University Centre subjects. The Yeovil College esteemed resident artist, Paula Paton, together with three community artists showcased a range of exciting pieces within the grounds. In addition, there was a number of film screenings both within the grounds and within the venue.
This was the first time the full Creative curriculum took over such an imposing and impressive space to showcase their extraordinary work. They are were supported by students from Hair and Beauty, Hospitality and Catering and Kingston Sixth Form A Level students, who came together to form an imposing showcase.
During the Creative Festival, a number of bespoke events ran, including an employer engagement brunch, afternoon tea and an evening private view, where more than 100 students showcased their very finest work to a select network of invited guests. Many Yeovil College lecturers from within the Creative Industries department are also practicing professionals within their own right, and they also used this opportunity to present their own work and personal pieces.
The Creative Festival was perfect for students in Year 11, 12 or 13, who may be joining Yeovil College or Yeovil College University Centre, or were thinking about pursuing a career in any of the creative arts, including graphic design, media, photography, art and design or digital media. It is was also regarded as a beautiful day out.
