Radio prize keeps Street woman tuned-in

For one lucky listener to Radio Ninesprings the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee will always have a special significance.

To mark Her Majesty’s 70-year reign, the Yeovil-based local radio station ran a competition offering an FM/DAB Roberts Radio as the prize.

The lucky listener to win the Roberts was Michelle Chinnock. a support worker for adults and children with learning disabilities, and an avid listener to Radio Ninesprings, who lives in Street.

Michelle said: “I’ve always loved the retro’ look of Roberts Radios but never owned one. I even got to choose the colour of my new Roberts - Duck Egg Blue – which was great as it matches perfectly the colour of my lounge”.

Radio Ninesprings Station Manager, Steve Haigh said “We had a terrific response to the competition marking the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, and my thanks go to H. R. Hodge of South Petherton and Wessex Internet for donating the Roberts Radio as a prize. I hope Michelle will have many years of happy listening and that she stays tuned to Radio Ninesprings”.
