LAUNCHING TIME TO SHINE; A UNIQUE APPRENTICESHIP RECRUITMENT EVENT FOR YC STUDENTS

Our Time to Shine event will take place on Monday 20th May, between 13.00-16.00 and provides employers with a chance to conduct short interviews with current learners who have identified an apprenticeship as their next career step, and who are looking for an employer to partner with.
The event will embrace a ‘speed-dating’ style, where first impressions really will count for our students, with a view to employers following up with their own formal interviews to secure their next apprentices.
Students will be invited to attend sessions with our independent Careers team, in advance of the event to help them to prepare for their upcoming speed dating sessions and follow-up interviews with employers. Students will be supported to develop a CV and covering letter with the Careers Team, who will also be on hand to support throughout the event.
Yeovil College has a pool of learners approaching the end of their current courses, who are motivated, skilled and actively seeking an apprenticeship role in their chosen industry.
Yeovil College is inviting all current students, no matter which study programme, level and year they are completing. They are also inviting employers, who are currently recruiting for apprentices to attend.
