Has your business been impacted by National Living Wage or National Minimum Wage rates?
Released On 17th Apr 2024
Many businesses have already told us the new National Living Wage (NLW), National Minimum Wage (NMW) and Apprentice Rate have had a significant impact on business costs and wage inflation.
Somerset Chamber of Commerce is working with the British Chambers of Commerce to better understand the pressures the NLW and NMW are putting on business.
We are inviting businesses to join us on April 30 for an exclusive online webinar with British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Graduate Policy Officer, Hannah Larsen, to enable the Chamber network to gather evidence on the impact of the increases.
The webinar will take place from 3pm to 4pm and places can be booked online here: https://bit.ly/3W4KGWJ
It is important Somerset businesses share their experiences to enable the BCC and wider Chamber network to directly lobby Government on their behalf.
The BCC is currently working with the Low Pay Commission, an independent body that advises the Government on the level of the minimum wage, as part of a consultation on NMW and NLW rates from April 2025.
Somerset Chamber is inviting local businesses to take part in the consultation by answering a number of questions supplied by the Low Pay Commission. The survey results will help the commission understand the impacts of the most recent rate increase and the proposed increases from 2025.
The deadline for responses is 5pm, Thursday, May 23. The survey can be found here: https://bit.ly/3U26jnI
