GET YOUR PAYROLL IN SHAPE FOR APRIL

Released On 31st Mar 2023

As the new financial year approaches, it is important to get ready for the last payroll run and make sure you are up to date with employee administration.

This includes making sure all leavers have been processed on the payroll.

Please check your latest copy of your Milsted Langdon timesheet to see who we have on record and inform us of any amendments.

P60S

P60s for employees will be produced and distributed to all employees via the online payments portal before May 2023.

What is a P60?

Your P60 shows the tax you’ve paid on your salary in the tax year (6 April to 5 April). Employees should get a separate P60 for each of their jobs every tax year.

If your employee is working for you on 5 April, they must receive a P60 from you. This must be delivered to them by 31 May, either on paper or electronically.

Employees need a P60 to prove how much tax they’ve paid on their salary, for example:

  • to claim back overpaid tax
  • to apply for tax credits
  • as proof of income if they apply for a loan or a mortgage
