Double Promotion for leading law firm Battens Solicitors

Battens Solicitors is delighted to announce the promotions of Private client Specialist Deborah Escott-Watson to Senior Associate and Dispute Resolution solicitor Ralph Wheeler to the role of Associate. 

These richly deserved promotions are in recognition of their ongoing hard work and outstanding contribution to both the firm and its clients. 

 Deborah joined Battens in 2017 and has quickly become a valued member of the Private Client team, being promoted to Associate in October 2020. 

She is based in the Batten's Sherborne Office where she assists clients with Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney as well as advice on probate and estate administration, and the creation and administration of Trusts. 

Deborah said, "In the Private Client team, we provide ourselves in providing a bespoke service for our clients, many of whom have faced a particularly challenging time during the pandemic. Battens has always encouraged me with my career development, and it is wonderful to be recognised for the work I do. It is also great to be a part of a resourceful and dedicated team who continue to deliver an excellent service for clients during this difficult time."

Ralph Wheeler is based at Battens’ Dorchester office and advises on a range of commercial disputes, including actions for breach of contract, negligence. He also advises on contentious probate disputes relating to disputed estates, contested Wills and disagreements about how trusts should be run. He joined the firm as a trainee in 2017.

Ralph said, “Clients come to me when they are facing real challenges in their lives. Often, they don’t know where to turn. It is very satisfying to be able to put them on the right path and to stand up for them when they find themselves under legal attack.”
