We have exciting opportunities for Special Educational Needs Practitioners to join our dedicated, friendly, small and welcoming SEND Team. The successful candidate will assist and support individuals and groups of students with special educational needs to enable them to successfully access further education and development at Yeovil College. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to get into education, looking to teach, but starting by supporting learners to develop their skills and knowledge as they grow. This role will involve working across the main-stream part of the college provision including vocational subjects, A Levels and apprenticeships; in any department across the college. We will discuss at interview any specific areas of interest or skills that you are suited to working within.
There are a few essential requirements for this role that you must be able to demonstrate, these include:
- A strong interest in working with young people with SEND.
- Understanding of additional learning needs.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Experience of motivating and facilitating young people to overcome barriers to learning or achieving goals.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent) or a commitment to complete within one year of commencement of employment.
- Level 3 Award for Learning Support Practitioners, or willingness to work towards.
- Effective communicator.

Actual salary dependent on hours worked (FTE £21,410)
20 - 37 hours per week (must be available during Monday - Friday 8.30-5.00) term time only.
