M-Hub Brecknell Willis Factory Tour and Presentation

Brecknell Willis in Chard, have been involved in transportation engineering since 1854. In 1894 the Company moved into the electrification business, which at that time was still in its infancy. The first major contract was with the Bristol Tramway Company supplying the complete system including roadside standards, overhead wires and tram collectors. New growth came in the 1970's with the advent of mainline electrification and the introduction of the new single arm pantograph. In the 1980's our activities spread even further with new metro systems being introduced. The Company has been operating from Chard since 1938 providing rail transport systems worldwide.

The tour will focus on innovation and development, as well as showcasing the diversity of manufacturers across the growing M-Hub area of influence.

M-Hub factory tours are arranged solely for manufacturing businesses and related businesses which deliver direct service and support to the manufacturing sector.  If you have any questions, please email president@yeovilchamber.org

Current Covid regulations allow a maximum of twelve individuals on our factory tours.

  • 1400 - Arrive
  • 1400 - 1430 - Welcomes and introduction
  • 1430 - 1500 - Presentation from John Parker, Managing Director and Global Infrastructure Product Line Lead at Brecknell Willis
  • 1500 - 1600 - Site tour
  • 1600 - 1630 - Discussion and close

Guests will need to:

  • Complete a Covid questionnaire on arrival
  • Confirm they have either taken a lateral flow test (& negative) in the previous 3 days or take one arrival.
  • Wear a face covering when moving around the site indoor. 
  • Maintain social distancing 

All those attending are asked to bring their own PPE, as well as (if they have their own) appropriate footwear, hi-vis jackets, safety glasses and hard hats. 

All places are free of charge for this tour, but space is currently limited to a maximum of twelve attendees, due to Covid restrictions
